The DPH Data Office modernizes and integrates public health data systems for North Carolina.

The DPH Data Office leads the North Carolina Division of Public Health efforts to modernize and integrate data systems so public health decisions are informed by timely, reliable, and actionable information.

Our team collaborates with internal programs and external partners to implement standards-based solutions that improve interoperability, governance, and accessibility across the Division.

Through this work, we strengthen the ability to respond to public health challenges, promote health equity, and improve outcomes for all North Carolinians.

Our Purpose

The NCDHHS DPH Data Office serves as a centralized business entity responsible for developing, supporting, and executing DPH data management strategy, data services, and data standards.

Protect and support positive health outcomes for North Carolinians through modernized data and technology systems.

Our Mission

  1. Create a strengthened and centralized data infrastructure in NCDHHS DPH by enhancing system integration and interoperability and making data more accessible to public health professionals and actors.
  2. Provide more efficient and robust data practices.
  3. Advance analytics to respond to critical public health issues and support more informed public health decisions.
  4. Lead the DPH data governance infrastructure, including the Data Governance Council and Data Management Committee.
  5. Represent DPH data efforts with internal and external collaborators and partners.
